Tertiary appoints Lorenz Werndle to its board

Tertiary Minerals Plc has strengthened its board with the appointment of Lorenz Werndle, a seasoned mining finance executive with extensive southern African experience, as an independent non-executive director, effective immediately.
Werndle joins Tertiary as the company advances exploration of its copper projects in Zambia. He succeeds Donald McAlister, who will step down on 4th August 2026, after more than 25 years of dedicated service to the company.
Currently serving as chief financial officer and executive director of Kavango Resources PLC, Werndle brings a wealth of expertise from his previous roles, including CFO of Nasdaq-listed Blue Gold and leadership positions at Mwana Africa, Lonrho, and Ambrian.
In addition to his directorship, Werndle will chair Tertiary’s Audit and Risk Committee and contribute to its Nomination and Remuneration committees, playing a key role in governance and strategic oversight.
Patrick Cheetham, Chairman of Tertiary Minerals, remarked, “Lorenz’s deep African experience is invaluable as we continue to explore and develop our projects in Zambia. His expertise will greatly support our growth and governance objectives.”
This appointment marks a significant step in reinforcing Tertiary Minerals’ leadership team as it pursues its strategic ambitions in the copper sector.
