Prospect Resources Ltd. has unveiled exciting new results from their Kabikupa deposit at the Mumbezhi Copper Project. Recently completed metallurgical tests have shown that the copper concentrates extracted are of impressively high grade and recovery, signaling strong potential for the project’s future.
The tests revealed that the Kabikupa transition zone produced a copper concentrate with a remarkable 31.9% copper grade and a 94.7% recovery rate after just one cleaning stage. Similarly, the low-grade fresh zone delivered a 25.0% copper concentrate grade with a 94.3% recovery, again after a single cleaning stage. These results were achieved using a consistent processing method previously developed for nearby Mumbezhi deposits, involving a coarse grind size that could reduce future plant costs.
Sam Hosack, Prospect’s Managing Director and CEO, expressed optimism about these findings. He highlighted the simplicity and effectiveness of the processing technique, which not only promises excellent concentrate quality but also offers opportunities for valuable gold and cobalt by-products. With ongoing exploration and a scoping study planned for late 2026 or early 2027, the Mumbezhi Project is poised for growth and success.
As drilling continues across the extensive licences, the team anticipates even greater resource expansion, reinforcing Mumbezhi’s position as a promising copper venture in Africa.
