Africa Energy Indaba 2026 unveils deep-dive energy forums driving Africa’s energy future

The Africa Energy Indaba (AEI) 2026, taking place from 3 – 5 March 2026, at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, will present a comprehensive series of Deep-Dive Energy Forums, designed to tackle Africa’s most pressing energy challenges while unlocking transformative opportunities for investment and growth.

Bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, innovators, investors, and development partners, these forums provide a 360° view of Africa’s energy landscape. The sessions are structured across three days, each offering targeted insights, strategic dialogue, and project-driven discussions to foster actionable outcomes.

Programme highlights

Day 1 – 3 March 2026: Policy, Power Pools, Investment & Sustainability

  • African Power Pools & Regional Integration Forum: Exploring cross-border electricity trade and interconnections to accelerate continental power integration, in partnership with stakeholders such as SAPP, EAPP, WAPP, CAPP, governments, utilities, and regional development banks.
  • Energy Investment & Financing Forum: Mobilising capital from DFIs, sovereign funds, commercial banks, and private equity to unlock Africa’s bankable energy infrastructure projects.

Day 2 – 4 March 2026: Renewables, Green Hydrogen & Future Energy Innovation

  • Renewable Energy & Green Hydrogen Forum: Showcasing Africa’s vast renewable resources and positioning the continent in the global hydrogen economy.
  • Future Energy & Innovation Forum: Highlighting energy storage, AI, smart grids, and e-mobility, with a focus on positioning Africa as a testbed for innovation and technology-driven solutions.

Day 3 – 5 March 2026: Inclusion, Youth, Partnerships & Showcases

  • Women in Energy Leadership Forum: Championing female participation and leadership across Africa’s energy value chain, with themes of mentorship, skills development, and gender mainstreaming.
  • Youth in Energy & Skills Development Forum: Empowering Africa’s next generation of energy leaders through entrepreneurship, career pathways, and innovation opportunities.

Driving investment, innovation, and collaboration

The Deep-Dive Energy Forums complement AEI’s flagship plenary sessions by offering targeted platforms where stakeholders can forge partnerships, secure investment, and develop actionable strategies. They provide unique opportunities to:
