Prospect Resources expands high-grade copper mineralisation at Nyungu Central, Mumbezhi Project

Prospect Resources Ltd. is pleased to announce significant new drill results from its ongoing Phase 3 diamond drilling programme at the Nyungu Central deposit, part of the Mumbezhi Copper Project in north-west Zambia. Recent step-out drilling has delivered thick, high-grade copper intercepts extending the flagship mineralisation to the southeast, beyond the current Mineral Resource estimate (MRE) boundary.

Key highlights include:

  • 44.0m at 0.60% copper from 270m and 1.74m at 0.36% copper from 147m (NCDD026)
  • 17.0m at 0.57% copper from 186m (NCDD024)
  • Thirteen Phase 3 diamond drill holes completed to date at the southern end of Nyungu Central, totaling 4,043m, with priority assays pending for six holes
  • Ongoing drilling targeting shallow copper mineralisation outside existing Indicated and Inferred MRE areas, with exploration now also underway at Nyungu West
  • Nyungu Central infill drilling programme (6,000m) set to commence in late July

Prospect’s Managing Director and CEO, Sam Hosack, commented: “These new results confirm the compelling growth potential of Nyungu Central. We have successfully extended the mineralisation at relatively shallow depths, returning wide and high-grade copper intercepts outside the current resource outline. This validates our exploration model and highlights the opportunity to significantly enhance both the scale and economics of the deposit.”

He added, “Our drilling focus is now expanding to other promising targets within the Nyungu Hub, including initial exploration at Nyungu West and additional geophysical targets near Nyungu South. We also anticipate further exploratory drilling at Kamafamba and the large-scale Chipimpa target later this quarter.”

The recent extensional drilling has targeted the southeast and southwest edges of the existing MRE, where copper mineralisation approaches the surface before being faulted. The intercepted mineralisation, primarily chalcopyrite and chalcocite, aligns with a strong, near-surface airborne electromagnetic anomaly, reinforcing the potential for further resource growth.

Nyungu Central’s current Mineral Resource estimate stands at 154.4 million tonnes at 0.42% copper (0.51% Cu equivalent) at a 0.2% copper cut-off grade, highlighting the significance of these new, high-grade extensions.

Prospect remains committed to advancing the Mumbezhi Copper Project through systematic exploration and resource growth, aiming to unlock the full potential of this highly prospective region.
