Red Rock Mining fast-tracks copper development at Idelsane

Red Rock Mining (RRM) has announced a significant step forward in the development of its Idelsane copper project in Morocco’s Ouarzazate region. Initial core drilling results point to an estimated resource of around 1 million tonnes at an average grade of 1% copper, highlighting a deposit with strong economic and strategic potential. The results are currently being independently validated by SLR Consulting, an international firm specialising in geological and mining assessments under JORC/Ni 43-101 standards.

Meanwhile, RRM’s technical teams are conducting an expanded exploration program targeting additional potential exceeding 10 million tonnes. To prepare for the production phase, RRM is establishing Idelsane Mining SA, a dedicated subsidiary that will manage the construction of the processing plant and future mining operations. The entity will be led by an experienced team of mining professionals with a proven track record in technical and operational excellence. RRM is finalising a US$12 million funding round to finance the processing facility, continued exploration, and the scale-up of site operations.

“The Idelsane project is a defining milestone for Red Rock Mining and for Morocco’s growing mining industry,” said Richard Khoury, CEO and Co-founder of Red Rock Mining. “Our goal is a swift, sustainable transition to production, aligned with international best practices and underpinned by strong social and environmental commitments.”

  • Minimising environmental impact through responsible water and waste management;
  • Supporting community development programs in the Idelsane region. By advancing Idelsane, Red Rock Mining aims to set a new benchmark for responsible copper development in North Africa, contributing to the sustainable use of Morocco’s mineral resources and supporting the global energy transition.
