Tertiary Minerals advances exploration with Western Zone discoveries

Tertiary Minerals plc is pleased to report early positive results from portable X-Ray Fluorescence (pXRF) analysis on two scout drill holes at the newly identified Western Zone, located approximately 900m west-southwest of the Discovery Zone in the Mushima North Project, Zambia.
The Mushima North Project, situated in Zambia’s prospective Iron-Oxide-Copper-Gold region, hosts the polymetallic Target A1, a silver-copper-zinc prospect near the historic Kalengwa copper-silver mine. The recent drilling campaign aimed to expand understanding of mineralisation beyond the current Exploration Target of 15-30 million tonnes at 40-60 g/t silver equivalent within the Discovery Zone.
Key Highlights
- Discovery of a new copper mineralised zone approximately 900m west-southwest of the Discovery Zone.
- Significant drill intersections include 25m at 0.38% copper from 19m downhole, including 13m at 0.53% copper from 29m, and 3m at 0.75% copper from 33m.
- Drilling at the Western Zone conducted alongside infill drilling at the Discovery Zone to support upcoming Mineral Resource modelling.
- Additional pXRF results from the Discovery Zone and Target A2 scout holes expected shortly.
- Certified laboratory assay results from the entire drill programme anticipated in the coming weeks.
- Initial metallurgical testwork to commence soon, preceding Mineral Resource Estimate preparation.
Richard Belcher, Managing Director of Tertiary Minerals, commented: “We are excited by the pXRF results from the Western Zone scout holes, which reveal shallow copper mineralisation including an encouraging 13 metres at 0.53% copper just 29 metres below surface. This new zone lies well beyond the current Exploration Target boundary, suggesting the Mushima North Project may host a much larger mineralised system than previously defined.”
He added, “With the drill programme now complete, we anticipate significant news flow in the coming weeks, including further pXRF data and certified laboratory results across the programme, especially silver assays from the Discovery Zone, where expectations remain high. We look forward to updating shareholders as we advance towards producing a Maiden Mineral Resource Estimate before year-end.”
This announcement marks an important step in Tertiary Minerals’ ongoing exploration efforts at Mushima North, strengthening the potential for a substantial polymetallic resource in this highly prospective region of Zambia.
