Volvo CE launches New Generation wheel loaders in Asia for enhanced productivity, comfort, and safety

Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) has announced the launch of its New Generation wheel loaders in Asia, delivering faster cycle times, exceptional operator comfort, and intelligent solutions that set new standards for productivity and safety.

The New Generation range, comprising the L150, L180, L200 High Lift, L220, and L260, will be available from September 2025. These machines are built on Volvo CE’s 70-year legacy of wheel loader innovation and form part of a landmark year of product and service launches worldwide.

A continuation of the New Generation rollout

The launch of the wheel loaders marks the next phase of Volvo CE’s New Generation rollout in the Asia region, following the successful introductions of its New Generation Excavators earlier this year and the New Generation Articulated Hauler range. Together, these launches represent Volvo CE’s most ambitious renewal of products and services to date, offering customers a cohesive update of equipment engineered for tomorrow’s job sites.

Variants for region Asia

To meet diverse regional needs, the wheel loaders will be introduced in T2 engine versions for Asian countries other than Japan, which will receive the T4f compliant, and Korea with a Stage V compliant engine to meet local emission regulations. The machines are ideally suited to demanding applications such as material handling, quarrying, waste and recycling, and earthmoving.

Designed for productivity and efficiency

The new models feature load-sensing hydraulics for faster cycle times and greater responsiveness. Intelligent systems such as Auto Bucket Fill (optional), automatic bucket levelling, and Smart Control deliver consistent performance while reducing fuel consumption. The engines are also compatible with HVO (Hydro-treated Vegetable Oils), supporting customers’ sustainability goals.

Performance is further enhanced with technologies such as OptiShift and Reverse By Braking (RBB), which cut cycle times and extend component life. Hydraulic upgrades include increased lift height and pump capacity (L150/L180), while new driveline updates, such as automatic traction control (L220/L260) and direct lock-up shifting (L150/L180), improve traction, acceleration, and operator control.

Unmatched operator comfort and safety

The redesigned cab sets new benchmarks for comfort and usability, featuring a new integrated Co-Pilot & Operator interface, enhancing the operator experience. Options, including premium heated and cooled seats, Comfort Drive Control (CDC) joystick steering, reduce fatigue during long shifts.
