Three-day Wits course in Mechanised Earthmoving in Mining – Equipment, Technology and Management

The Wits Mining Institute will be hosting an online course from 26 to 28 May, 2021, on ‘Mechanised Earthmoving in Mining: Equipment, Technology and Management’.

Presented by Professor Zvi Borowitsh, the course will allow participants to practice advanced manual and computerized techniques, and to select the most efficient spread of equipment and general mining layout. It will also address earthwork cost evaluation and the basics of mine and plant management.

It is aimed at mining and civil engineering project managers, engineers and technicians – at both technical and managerial levels – who are involved in the various stages of earthmoving in mining or civil engineering. The Engineering Council of South Africa has accredited the course for four continuous professional development (CPD) points.
