Botswana Diamonds snaps up polymetallic acreage

Summary
  • Eleven Prospecting Licences applied for to secure key polymetallic targets identified by our recent Artificial Intelligence ("AI") exploration programme in Botswana.
  • Prospecting Licenses include Copper, Silver, Cobalt, Gold, Nickel, Zinc and PGM targets.

Following the comprehensive country-wide AI exploration programme in Botswana where the initial focus was on diamonds, this has been expanded to look for hidden polymetallic deposits. This assessment has reached an advanced stage where eleven Prospecting Licenses have now been applied for covering 7,322 square kilometres.

The Prospecting License applications focus on five mineralisation types:

  • Besshi (volcanogenic massive sulfide deposit): predominantly Copper.
  • Greenstone: Copper – Nickel
  • MVT (Mississippi Valley-type deposits): Lead and Zinc.
  • Sedex (sedimentary exhalative deposits): Lead, Zinc and Silver.
  • Ultramafic: Platinum Group Metals

Chairman, John Teeling, commented: “Our comprehensive, country-wide AI driven exploration programme in Botswana initially focused on diamonds. During the initial analysis of the big database, it became clear that the AI technology could be used to identify other unknown minerals opportunities and so it turned out. Our analysis so far has identified a series of targets in copper cobalt, zinc and gold. We have applied for eleven prospecting licenses, and I am pleased to report that the applications have been accepted”.
