Deep Yellow Limited has awarded two significant civil and concrete construction contracts for its flagship Tumas Project, reinforcing its commitment to disciplined project execution and local industry support.
The combined contract value is approximately A$34 million, marking a key step in Deep Yellow’s strategy to reduce project risks while preparing for a Final Investment Decision (FID) expected in the fourth quarter of 2026. Both contracts were awarded to 100% Namibian-owned companies, highlighting the company’s dedication to local content and building in-country capabilities.
The work packages cover essential infrastructure including processing plant concrete, precast structures, and Run-of-Mine retaining structures. Mobilisation is scheduled for August 2026, with a phased handover approach designed to minimize execution risks and maintain flexibility throughout project development.
Deep Yellow’s Managing Director and CEO, Greg Field, stated: “These awards represent another important milestone in our disciplined approach to project development. Our objective has always been to systematically remove execution risk, secure high-quality contractors, and ensure the Project is positioned for efficient delivery as we advance toward FID towards the end of this year.”
He added, “Civil and concrete works are fundamental to the successful delivery of any major processing facility. Securing these capabilities now creates multiple construction work fronts, increasing execution flexibility and strengthening confidence in execution once FID is reached.”
