Drilling at Kokoseb continues to reinforce underground resource growth potential

Wia Gold Ltd. is pleased to report assay results from 33 Diamond Drill (DD) holes totalling 18,476 metres of drilling at its 3.78 Moz Au Kokoseb Gold Project in Namibia.
Commenting on the results, Wia Managing Director and CEO, Henk Diederichs, said:
“Our underground drilling programme continues to deliver both scale and grade, reinforcing the underground opportunity emerging beneath the planned open pit at Kokoseb. Recent drilling has extended the Central Underground Exploration Target by approximately 470 metres, while the Southern Underground Exploration Target remains open at depth and continues to return encouraging widths and grades. Results from the Deep High-Grade Exploration Target continue to highlight the broader underground potential of the Project. Infill drilling has further strengthened confidence in the continuity of mineralisation within the Central Underground Resource Envelope.
At the same time, ongoing geological studies are improving our understanding of the controls on high-grade gold mineralisation and helping refine future growth opportunities. Knowledge gained will be used to determine the extent of mineralisation and especially the high-grade continuity.
With the updated Mineral Resource Estimate and Definitive Feasibility Study completed in Q3 2026, our focus is now on advancing execution readiness activities and progressing the Mining Licence and ECC approval processes as we move Kokoseb towards development.”
Central Zone underground Resource Envelope
As announced on 10 August 2026, a maiden underground resource of 7.9 Mt at 2.2 g/t for 0.56 Moz Au at a 0.85 g/t cut-off has been established in the Central and Southern Underground Resource Envelopes.
Further drilling of 3,059 metres in this Central Zone Underground Resource Envelope has delivered excellent continuity and grade, demonstrating the increased confidence in further potential resource growth in this area.
Significant intercepts for this grade continuity include:
- 15.5m @ 6.53 g/t Au from 499.5m, inc. 3m @ 27.93 g/t Au in KDD191
- 20m @ 2.70 g/t Au from 544m, inc. 3m @ 5.39 g/t Au in KDD181
- 18m @ 1.51 g/t Au from 488m, inc. 3m @ 3.69 g/t Au in KDD184
- 9m @ 1.94 g/t Au from 436m, inc. 3m @ 3.03 g/t Au in KDD173
- 3m @ 4.10 g/t Au from 517.6m in KDD191
Additional drilling is planned to expand the existing underground Inferred Mineral Resource. This is anticipated in the down-dip and down-plunge direction primarily.
Central underground exploration target
A total of 4,385 metres has recently been drilled in the Central Underground Exploration Target.
Drill holes KDD163, KDD165 and KDD188 have confirmed the southwest plunging limb of this structure over 300 metres. The recent drilling in this zone significantly increases confidence in the interpreted volume of the Central Underground Exploration Target and potential future underground resource growth.
The northeast limb has also been re-evaluated following completion of drill hole KDD175. There is a continuity of lithology and structural setting with KDD1093 and KDD0554 that gives confidence to the interpretation of extending this limb 170m down-plunge.
A lithological and structural study of the Central Underground Resource Envelope is in progress. Initial observations indicate that gold grades are commonly elevated (>2 g/t) where contrasting lithologies coincide with structural folding and quartz-diopside veining along fold axes. This distinctive association characterises the envelope, strengthens confidence in grade continuity and enhances its underground potential.
Significant intercepts include:
- 20.7m @ 1.75 g/t Au from 779m, inc. 3m @ 6.34 g/t Au in KDD163
- 18.2m @ 1.47 g/t Au from 257.9m, inc. 3m @ 4.24 g/t Au in KDD175
- 10m @ 3.00 g/t Au from 689m, inc. 4m @ 4.83 g/t Au in KDD165
- 10m @ 2.01 g/t Au from 846m, inc. 3m @ 3.69 g/t Au in KDD188
- 10m @ 1.63 g/t Au from 758.1m, inc. 4m @ 3.12 g/t Au in KDD163
- 3m @ 4.25 g/t Au from 771m in KDD163
Future drilling is planned to achieve a 50 x 50 metre drill spacing to confirm grade continuity. Additional step out holes are also planned to the Southwest down-plunge to determine the extent of the mineralised horizon.
Intermediate and deep high-grade exploration targets
A total of 3,072 metres has recently been drilled to investigate these targets.
Drill holes KDD169 and KDD183 were drilled into the Intermediate HG Exploration Target while KDD174 was drilled into the Deep HG Exploration Target for extensions of the Underground Exploration Target previously disclosed.
The upper target shows a similar environment of gold accumulation as the Central Underground Resource Envelope. This similarity increases the confidence in this target’s underground potential.
Drill hole KDD174 intersection with Deep HG Exploration Target reinforces the pre-existing drill holes in this location, notably KDD147 and KDD137,8 highlighting the potential of this target.
Significant intercepts for these exploration targets include:
- 29m @ 1.91 g/t Au from 755m, inc. 3m @ 5.89 g/t Au in KDD174
- 6m @ 6.06 g/t Au from 623m in KDD183
- 16m @ 0.93 g/t Au from 604m, inc. 4m @ 1.40 g/t Au in KDD169
- 8m @ 1.37 g/t Au from 738m, inc. 3m @ 2.88 g/t Au in KDD174
Additional step-out drilling is planned to test the extent of the Intermediate HG Exploration Target. The Deep HG Exploration Target remains a compelling target for future testing and is expected to be most efficiently evaluated from underground drill positions as the Project advances.
Southern underground exploration target
A total of 2,682 metres has recently been drilled in the Southern Underground Exploration Target.
Drill holes KDD176 and KDD185 intersected thick zones of high-grade mineralisation at depth in the Southern Underground Exploration Target. These new holes demonstrate a consistency of grade and thickness with the Southern Underground Resource Envelope at greater depths, increasing confidence in this zone.
Drill hole KDD194 intersected good thickness and grades within the Target Zone for HG Gold. KDD194 has similar lithology and structural characteristics to KDD176 and KDD185 indicating continuity with, and possible connectivity to, the Southern Underground Exploration Target.
Significant intercepts for this grade continuity include:
- 18m @ 2.78 g/t Au from 606m, inc. 3m @ 4.64 g/t Au in KDD185
- 9m @ 2.45 g/t Au from 675.7m, inc. 3m @ 6.17 g/t Au in KDD176
- 7m @ 2.16 g/t Au from 478m, inc. 3m @ 4.03 g/t Au in KDD194
Drilling will continue in this area to achieve an infill density of 50 x 50 metres for continuity testing. Additional drilling is also planned to test potential connectivity with the Southern Target Zone for HG Gold.
