Egypt, Saudi Arabia discuss expanding co-operation in mining

Egyptian Petroleum Minister Karim Badawi met with visiting Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar al-Khorayef to discuss means of boosting bilateral co-operation.

Both sides discussed expanding co-operation in mining, particularly in gold exploration, where Saudi companies are already active in Egypt.

Khorayef underscored the Kingdom’s interest in leveraging the economic strengths of both nations for mutual benefit.

He invited Badawi to participate in the fourth Future Minerals Forum scheduled for January 2025, in Riyadh. This forum aims to bring together stakeholders from various sectors to discuss future prospects in minerals and mining industries.

Badawi said Egypt will not hesitate to offer all kind of support to render the forum successful.

Both ministers stressed the importance of invigorating a memorandum of understanding signed between their ministries in January.
