Mushima North Phase 4 yields promising lab results

Tertiary Minerals plc is excited to announce the first laboratory results from its recent Phase 4 drilling at Target A1, part of the Mushima North Project in Zambia. The results confirm significant near-surface silver-copper-zinc mineralisation and highlight a higher-grade zone within the Discovery Zone, supporting the previously estimated Exploration Target of 15-30 million tonnes grading 40-60 g/t silver equivalent.

Located in Zambia’s prolific Iron-Oxide-Copper-Gold region, Mushima North’s Target A1 is a polymetallic prospect situated just 28km east of the historic Kalengwa copper-silver mine now under redevelopment.

Key highlights from the drill programme

  • Strong drill intersections confirming continuity of near-surface silver-copper-zinc oxide mineralisation, including:
    66m at 37 g/t Ag, 0.28% Cu, and 0.27% Zn (58 g/t Ag equivalent) from 7m depth;
    73m at 27 g/t Ag, 0.23% Cu, and 0.25% Zn (45 g/t Ag equivalent) from 9m depth;
    57m at 38 g/t Ag, 0.20% Cu, and 0.31% Zn (55 g/t Ag equivalent) from 34m depth.
  • Support for a higher-grade silver-copper zone with intercepts such as:
    7m at 56 g/t Ag, 0.48% Cu, and 0.27% Zn (89 g/t Ag equivalent) from 81m depth;
    6m at 51 g/t Ag, 0.48% Cu, and 0.23% Zn (84 g/t Ag equivalent) from 71m depth;
    2m at 16 g/t Ag, 1.48% Cu, and 0.13% Zn (107 g/t Ag equivalent) from 89m depth.
  • Elevated critical minerals linked to the main mineralisation, including notable grades of bismuth, cobalt, and antimony:
    6m at 0.32% Bi, 0.32% Co, 15 g/t Ag, and 0.22% Cu from 79m depth;
    Highest recorded one-metre grades of bismuth (0.53%), antimony (0.11%), and cobalt (0.39%) to date.
  • Additional lab results and initial metallurgical testing samples have been submitted, with more data expected in the coming weeks.

Richard Belcher, Managing Director of Tertiary Minerals, said: “Receiving the first laboratory results from the drill programme is a thrilling milestone. Although these results come from just five holes, they strongly reinforce our initial field observations and confirm the presence of near-surface, thick silver-copper-zinc mineralisation within our Exploration Target. Notably, we have intersections like 66m at 58 g/t silver equivalent from only 7m downhole, which lies at the upper end of our expected grade range.”

He added: “The data also supports the existence of a higher-grade zone with intercepts such as 7m at 89 g/t silver equivalent from 81m depth. Importantly, we have identified elevated levels of critical metals like bismuth, antimony, and cobalt – the highest seen to date – which could become valuable accessory metals as we progress.”

“With further assay results and metallurgical testing underway, this is an exciting period for Tertiary Minerals. We look forward to ongoing news flow from Target A1 and remain on track to deliver our maiden Mineral Resource Estimate later this year.”
