Ghana looks to expand mineral sector ties with Guangdong Shengmai

The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, has expressed Ghana’s eagerness to collaborate with Guangdong Shengmai Tech Co. Ltd. to explore investment prospects within the nation’s vibrant mineral sector. In a recent meeting with representatives from the Chinese firm, Hon. Buah emphasized the necessity for investors who prioritize long-term community development over immediate financial gains.

Hon. Buah highlighted the critical need for responsible mining practices, insisting that investors must place a high value on environmental protection and the rehabilitation of mined-out areas. He stressed that sustainable mining approaches are essential for safeguarding the environment and improving the livelihoods of those residing in mining communities.

The delegation from Guangdong Shengmai Tech Co. Ltd., headed by Tang Zhong Chun, shared the company’s enthusiasm for extending its operations to Ghana.
