Step-out drilling at the flagship Nyungu Central mineralisation continues to deliver thick copper intercepts, expanding a promising new zone to the southeast beyond existing resource estimates.
Recent highlights include a 65.8m intercept grading 0.42% copper from 226m, featuring higher-grade sections such as 17.0m at 0.58% copper and 13.2m at 0.82% copper, and a 29.6m intercept at 0.34% copper from 237m with an intense 5.2m section at 0.80% copper. These results extend the known copper system outside the current Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE), defining fresh targets for future exploration.
To date, sixteen Phase 3 diamond drill holes have been completed at the southern end of Nyungu Central, totaling 4,723m, with priority assay results pending for seven of these holes. A 6,200m infill diamond drilling program at Nyungu Central commenced in late July, supported by an additional drill rig now onsite.
Currently, four diamond drill rigs are actively operating: three focused on Nyungu Central and one at the regional Sharamba prospect. Sharamba drilling targets shallow copper mineralisation linked to a strong airborne electromagnetic (AEM) anomaly. Visual copper mineralisation has been observed in five holes drilled along 700m of strike on the western side of this anomaly.
Sam Hosack, Managing Director and CEO, commented: “Our Phase 3 extensional drilling continues to deliver highly encouraging results, expanding an emerging mineralised zone southeast of Nyungu Central. These intercepts occur at and beyond the boundaries of the current MRE and confirm the strong connection between copper mineralisation and the shallow, continuous AEM anomaly identified in this area.”
“Drilling activities are outpacing assay turnaround times, creating a substantial pipeline of pending results across the Mumbezhi Project, including at Sharamba where visual mineralisation has been intersected, and seven priority holes at Nyungu Central awaiting assays. We look forward to updating shareholders as results are received and interpreted.”
“The consistency of results validates our geological model and targeting strategy, reinforcing our belief that Mumbezhi hosts a much larger copper system than currently reflected in the MRE, highlighting significant potential for near-term resource growth.”
These ongoing exploration efforts at Mumbezhi underscore the project’s potential to deliver further resource expansion and support the company’s commitment to unlocking value for shareholders through continued drilling and assay programs.
